Detention, Standby & Waiting Charges
Last updated: 7 October 2026
This policy explains when waiting, standby and detention charges apply, how they are calculated for each vehicle type, and how they are shared across our apps: AURVITRUCK (customers), AURPulse (drivers and driver assistants) and AURForge (fleet owners and the AURForge team).
1. The three charges
- Waiting charges apply when a vehicle waits at a loading or unloading point beyond the free time shown in your quote.
- Detention charges apply when a vehicle is held for a longer period beyond the agreed loading or unloading window, for example because the consignment is not ready, documents are pending or the receiving site does not accept the vehicle.
- Standby charges apply when a vehicle is kept reserved or on hold at the customer's request, without moving, for a booked period.
2. Standard rate card
These are Movezle's standard baseline rates. The free waiting time applies at each pickup and delivery point. After it ends, the vehicle waiting rate applies, together with the driver and driver assistant rates when a driver or assistant is on the trip. Detention and standby are charged per hour at the rates below. Taxes are extra.

These rates are the default. A customer's commercial agreement, or a booking quote that shows a different rate, takes priority. Rates can also differ by city, route, vehicle sub-type, payload, temperature requirement, night operation, special handling and multi-point pickup or drop. The rate that applies to your booking is shown in the quote before you confirm.
3. How charges are calculated
- Every charge is calculated per vehicle type, because a mini truck, a trailer and a reefer have very different running costs.
- The free waiting clock starts when the vehicle reaches the pickup or delivery point and the arrival is recorded by GPS or geofence. Charges are then calculated automatically from the recorded time.
- A vehicle that stays blocked beyond the loading or unloading window moves from waiting charges to detention charges.
- Time is measured automatically from the app: arrival at the loading or unloading point, completion of loading or unloading, and departure. These timestamps come from the driver's AURPulse app and the vehicle's GPS.
- GST and other applicable taxes are added as per law.
4. Customers (AURVITRUCK)
Charges are added to the booking and appear as separate lines on your invoice, with the arrival and departure times. You can raise a dispute from the Support section within 7 calendar days of the invoice date, the charge notification or the trip settlement, whichever applies. Please include the booking ID, trip ID, invoice number, the charge you are disputing, your reason and any evidence you have. Keeping the consignment, documents and a contact person ready at the pickup and drop points helps you avoid these charges.
5. Drivers (AURPulse)
Drivers are compensated for time lost waiting, on detention or on standby, at market-standard rates for their vehicle type. The driver marks arrival and departure in AURPulse, the entries are checked against GPS, and approved amounts are added to the driver's earnings and shown in the trip statement.
6. Driver assistants
Where a trip is booked with a driver assistant (helper), a waiting, detention or standby allowance for the assistant is calculated at market-standard rates and shown separately from the driver's amount.
7. Fleet owners and the AURForge team
Fleet owners see the waiting, detention and standby entries for each of their vehicles in AURForge. When the AURForge team books a vehicle on behalf of a customer, the same charges apply and are billed to the customer account for that booking.
8. Planned city-entry holding
Many cities do not allow goods vehicles to enter at certain hours. When the AURVITRUCK app knows that your vehicle would reach a city inside its no-entry hours, it plans the hold, moves the ETA to the time entry opens, and shows "Holding for city entry" in the trip timeline.
The holding time is included in your quote before you confirm, as a separate line called City-entry holding. It is charged for each hour of holding, in steps of 30 minutes, at the vehicle standby rate plus the driver rate, and the driver assistant rate if an assistant is booked, from the rate card above. It is not billed as detention.
City-entry holding is optional. You can switch it off when you book, in which case no holding is planned or charged. The vehicle and driver then remain responsible for following the city's local rules.
If the vehicle is allowed to enter, or enters the city, before or without the planned holding, the holding amount for that city is automatically revoked for that trip and vehicle. If the vehicle is held for only part of the planned time, you are charged only for the time it was actually held. The adjustment is shown on your invoice.
The planned holding is the maximum for that city and does not increase after you confirm, unless the city changes its no-entry timings or you change the booking. Any further time the vehicle is held at your request beyond the entry window is charged as standby or detention. This policy does not waive other waiting, detention, parking or regulatory charges.
9. Fair use and disputes
Charges apply only for delays that are recorded in the app. If you believe a charge is wrong, raise a ticket from the Support section or email support@movezle.com with the booking reference. We review GPS data, geofence arrival and departure, driver app timestamps, the trip timeline, call and in-app message records and POD, and any amount charged in error is reversed as described in our Cancellation & Refund Policy.
